Factory farming exposes animals to unimaginable suffering - all to deliver cheap food and maximise profits.
Across the UK, around 80% of farmed animals are trapped in factory farms. From the moment they are born, they are denied freedom, treated as commodities and forced to endure relentless cruelty for their entire lives.
Confined in cramped, filthy sheds and cages, they are abused, exploited and ultimately slaughtered - all out of public view.
A life of suffering, hidden from sight
Mother pigs are locked into narrow metal cages so small they cannot turn around or nurse and care for their piglets. When their babies are just days old, they are taken away. Their tails are cut short and their teeth clipped - all without any pain relief.
Chickens are packed into overcrowded sheds, bred to grow so fast their bodies can barely support their weight. Cows are kept in intensive systems that prioritise productivity over welfare. Across factory farms, animals are denied sunlight, fresh air and the ability to express even the most basic natural behaviours.
Their suffering is systemic - built into a model that values profit over life.
Animals feel pain and they deserve better
Farmed animals are not objects. They are sentient beings with thoughts, emotions and individual personalities. Like us, they feel pain, terror and distress. They form bonds, experience fear, and seek comfort and safety.
They deserve care, dignity and respect. And they deserve lives worth living.
