Factory farms subject animals to unimaginable suffering, all to deliver cheap food and quick profits.
Around 80% of farmed animals in the UK are trapped in factory farms. They suffer unimaginable cruelty, denied their freedom and treated as commodities, their suffering is relentless and lasts their entire lives. Kept in cramped and filthy conditions, they’re abused, exploited and then slaughtered.
Mother pigs are trapped in cages so tiny they can’t care for their piglets. Their piglets taken from them at just a few days old, their tails cut off and teeth clipped, all without any pain relief.
These animals have thoughts, emotions and personalities. Just like us, they feel pain, terror and distress – and they deserve to be treated with care and dignity.
Factory farming not only devastates animals’ lives, but it is also devastating our lives and the future of our planet too.
We’ve made so much progress already. We’ve successfully pressured leading supermarkets to improve their pig welfare policies. But we must go further. With your support we can work with industry, governments and consumers to ensure farmed animals live good lives, and end factory farming for good.
