Baby elephants are torn from their mothers. They are then put through a brutal training process. Chained up, beaten and starved to crush their wild spirits. When submissive enough, these majestic, sensitive, intelligent animals are thrust into a lifetime of misery entertaining tourists. 

Simply closing down a venue doesn’t mean an elephant’s pain will end. They would likely just be moved to another venue or industry and their suffering continues. That’s why our solution is so crucial.

 So far, with the help of dedicated animal lovers like you, we’ve have already helped many elephants that were trapped in the tourist industry, transforming two tourism venues into elephant friendly, observation only sanctuaries. The elephants have all the space they need and can form close bonds with one another. They are properly cared for and always have nutritious food. Tourists can still see these magnificent animals – but from a distance – and the elephants can display all their natural behaviours without being disturbed. But many more still need our help.
