Our big wins

Our work

Doncaster racecourse final reptile market

Cruel UK reptile market closed

Over the past two years, we've campaigned to end the Doncaster Racecourse reptile market. And we have received some amazing news for animals.

Expedia dolphins news

Expedia Group finally prohibits cruel captive whale and dolphin activities

Following our work on 'Exposing the Truth Behind the Smile', Expedia Group has announced that it will end the sale and promotion of captive dolphin venues.

Happy Elephant Valley venue

Thai elephant venue reopens without the cruelty

With help from us and some leading travel companies, ChangChill – formerly Happy Elephant Valley – has become elephant-friendly and stopped visitors directly interacting with its elephants.

Together we’ve moved Instagram to help end cruel animal selfies

Our Wildlife Selfie Code campaign has successfully influenced one of the biggest social media sites to educate its users around the suffering wildlife selfies can cause to animals.

Asiatic black bears

Seven more bears are free at last

Seven captive bears were rescued from a bear bile farm in Phúc Thọ, a rural district of Hanoi in Vietnam. Our vision is for bears to be respected, protected by law and free from exploitation.

Proving we can deliver animal protection all over the world.

Campaign success stories

Our success stories help us inform governments around the world how to better protect animals – for example by proving that vaccinating dogs on a mass scale is the only way to combat rabies.

And they tell of the very real benefits to animals' lives – like the bears that are now living peacefully in sanctuaries after being rescued from cruelty.

Thanks to the help and dedication of our supporters, World Animal Protection has many success stories that show how we change animals' lives for the better.

Success for penguins!
