Who is Tricia Croasdell?
Tricia is the Chief Executive Officer of World Animal Protection. She brings decades of experience in global leadership and a lifelong passion for animal welfare. Her work is driven by a clear mission - to create a world where animals live free from cruelty and suffering.
What is Tricia’s background?
Before becoming CEO, Tricia served as UK Country Director, where she strengthened fundraising, led major campaigns, and helped shape the organisation’s global strategy for animal welfare. Her career has included senior roles at WWF, 10 Downing Street, and as Director of Communications for HM The Queen’s Commonwealth Summit.
These experiences have given her a unique ability to connect animal protection with wider environmental and social change — ensuring animals are part of the global agenda for sustainability and justice.
What inspires Tricia’s work?
Tricia’s belief in collective action comes from her South African roots. She explains:
Growing up in South Africa, I have seen how people, through collective action, can change the world. By working together with our supporters and activists globally, we can transform the lives of animals while creating a better future for people and the planet.
Her leadership is defined by empathy, collaboration, and the conviction that change is possible when people unite for animals.
What does Tricia hope to achieve as CEO?
Tricia is leading World Animal Protection into a new era - one that prioritises compassion, inclusion, and long-term systems change. As the organisation’s first female CEO, she is building on a strong foundation to make animal welfare a key part of global discussions on climate, food systems, and public health.
Her focus is on:
-
Ending factory farming and wildlife exploitation
-
Driving government and corporate accountability
-
Inspiring millions to take action for animals
A future built on compassion
Under Tricia’s leadership, World Animal Protection continues to push for a future where animals, people, and the planet thrive together. Her vision goes beyond policy and campaigns. It’s about changing how the world sees animals and our shared responsibility to protect them.
Away from work, Tricia enjoys life just outside London with her partner, Dawn, and their beloved dogs.
