Pangolin project updates
This page shares the latest updates from our work in Indonesia with our partner JAAN, following the journey of rescued pangolins as they recover and return to protected forest habitats.
New stories and releases direct from the field will be added here as they happen, made possible by the generosity of supporters like you.
Amba and Peter’s release
Amba and Peter have now been returned to a protected forest in Java after their final health checks. Watch their first moments back in the wild.
When the crate opened, Peter stepped out immediately, climbing and exploring the trees. Amba paused for a moment before moving into the undergrowth. Within minutes both pangolins had disappeared into the dense vegetation. The forest is protected, with anti-poaching patrols and community forest guardians helping to keep wildlife safe.
