To feed those animals, vast forests are cleared to grow crops like soy and maize. Every tree that falls releases carbon, wipes out vital habitats, and pushes wild species closer to extinction. From jaguars in South America to orangutans in Asia, countless animals are losing their homes to feed factory farmed pigs, chickens and cows.
And it’s not just deforestation. Factory farms themselves produce huge amounts of methane (a gas far more powerful than carbon dioxide) as well as waste that pollutes our rivers and soil. The result is a system that’s breaking animals’ spirits, burning forests, and heating the planet.
