Help end the bear bile trade

In China, bears are forced to endure excruciating procedures to harvest their bile, so it can be used in products and medicines.

In China bear farming is a legal industry that is worth more than $1 billion. Bear farms range from small operations to large-scale industrial models. Over 20,000 bears suffer in legally licensed farms.

These bears face a lifetime of trauma and torment as bile is painfully drained from their gallbladders again and again.

Confinement takes a heavy toll on bears’ physical health, too. Denied the chance to move freely or eat a varied diet, many become emaciated and lose their fur.

Bear bile is used in traditional medicine and for luxury products including wine, soda and tonics. But this industry is not only unspeakably cruel and it’s totally unnecessary. Alternatives to bear bile exist that are both affordable and effective.

By supporting alternatives and advocating for change, we can help end bear bile farming and give these animals a chance at a life free from pain.

Help save bears from pain and suffering, and keep them in the wild where they can thrive.
