You can give elephants a life free from cruelty and suffering

Thousands of elephants are being cruelly harmed and exploited, all to entertain holidaymakers. They’re forced to do tricks, carry tourists, or let people touch, wash and take photos with them.

As babies, elephants are ripped from their mothers. They’re chained up, beaten and starved to crush their wild spirits. Then these majestic, sensitive, intelligent animals are thrust into a lifetime of misery entertaining tourists.

It doesn’t end there: dolphins, tigers, monkeys and many more wild animals are being used, abused and exploited by the holiday industry.

With your support, we can work with the industry, governments and communities to give captive animals good lives, and keep wild animals in the wild where they can thrive.

Lotus the elephant cools off in the river

Lotus’ story: A life-changing rescue

As a baby, Lotus was forced through a cruel and traumatic training process.

When she grew bigger, she was made to carry tourists on treks day in, day out. Lotus’ keepers beat her to make her go faster over steep and stony ground. But her injuries became infected, making it painful to walk.

Eventually, Lotus became too sick and exhausted to continue. Her owners left her chained up at the side of a busy road. Luckily, Lotus was rescued, and today she’s thriving at an elephant sanctuary.

She goes everywhere with her two best friends. Together, they’re known as ‘the gossip girls’ because they’re always squeaking and trumpeting to each other.

Help us give elephants like Lotus happy lives in peace and safety
