All animals deserve a life without cruelty and pain.
£3 a month can help persuade elephant owners, governments and communities that elephant-friendly venues are the future of tourism.
£6 a month can help raise awareness and put pressure on world leaders to end global wildlife trade and protect wild animals.
£8 a month can help our work with governments, farmers and consumers all over the world to end factory farming.
Animals need your protection
Snatching a wild animal from their natural habitat or breeding a wild animal for a life in captivity, condemns them to a lifetime of suffering. Sadly, in many cases it's a death sentence. Wild animals are not pets. They are not medicine. They are not here for our entertainment. They belong in the wild.
Factory farming is the largest source of animal cruelty in the world. Over 70% of the UK’s farmed animals are raised in intensive farming systems and exploited in the name of profit.
Imagine living your whole life in a space so cramped you can’t even turn around. This is how life is for billions of animals living in factory farms around the world.
But factory farming is a global problem, it devastates the planet and has been described as the “perfect breeding ground for the next pandemic”.
Animals are sentient beings and like us feel pain, fear and anguish. Every animal deserves a life worth living.
You will have a real impact on animals
Becoming a regular supporter of World Animal Protection you will help to:
End the cruel use of animals in entertainment by putting pressure on governments, persuading travel companies to end the promotion of cruel animal attractions, and helping transition wildlife venues to be animal friendly.
End wildlife trade by raising awareness and putting pressure on world leaders to implement and uphold a ban to end the wildlife trade and help prevent future zoonotic disease outbreaks.
End the exploitation of animals used for traditional medicine by working collaboratively with partners, local organisations and governments.
Create a humane and sustainable global farming system that gives animals a life worth living.
Provide a safe forever home for rescued baiting and dancing bears in our supporter funded sanctuary.
World Animal Protection are fighting to protect vulnerable animals from cruelty. Together, we can end the cruel exploitation and suffering of animals and give them a life worth living.
Your donation matters
A small monthly donation may not seem very much but it really will make a big difference. Regular gifts are vital to our work, allowing us to plan ahead and reach more animals around the world.
In practical terms, choosing to give on a monthly basis saves us money in processing and administrative costs. This means more of your kind donation goes towards giving animals the life they deserve.
We have suggested some amounts above, but you can give any amount you choose. Whatever works for you.
By giving a voice to the voiceless, your regular support will create lasting change by developing long-term, sustainable solutions to stop animal exploitation.
Beautiful Lotus is a female elephant who is now in her 40’s and who, before her rescue 11 years ago, only knew terrible cruelty and abuse.
For years, day in day out, she was forced to carry tourists on her back, on laborious climbs up steep and stony hills. She was beaten about the ankles to make her go quicker and suffered terrible infections making it hard to walk. When she was no longer of use to her owners, she was left chained up at the side of a busy road.
Despite her awful treatment and the lasting effects of her abuse and neglect, Lotus has blossomed at the sanctuary and is loving every aspect of her life there, especially the food. She has two best friends and the three of them are known as the “gossip girls” spending all their time together chatting and gossiping, especially if there’s a bull nearby.
We are working with elephant venues to transition them into elephant- friendly venues where visitors can observe elephants from a distance, allowing them to live as freely as possible. Thanks to supporters like you we have helped two venues in Thailand make this transition so far.
