Elephant riding in Thailand

Give elephants the life they deserve

Help elephants today

Will you help end the suffering of entertainment elephants like Mayura?

Elephants are not meant to be worked, ridden or made to perform. They are wild animals and can be extremely dangerous to handle. To make them ‘safe’, their spirit has to be broken through a horrific training regime.

Elephants are highly social animals who form deep, complex bonds with their herd. In captivity, their lives are spent in chains, unable to touch or interact with other elephants, being endlessly washed and petted by strangers and forced to carry loads of tourists for hours each day. Their torture is never-ending.

This is why your support today is so important.

Sadly, the elephants held captive by the Thailand’s tourism industry are so psychologically damaged and physically injured that they need specialist care – often for the rest of their lives. Simply closing down a venue doesn’t mean an elephant’s pain will end. They could still be abused in a different industry. That’s why our solution is so crucial.

So far, with the help of dedicated animal lovers like you, we’ve helped two tourist venues in Thailand to become high-welfare, observation only sites. The elephants have all the space they need, and are able to form close bonds with one another. They are properly cared for and always have nutritious food. Tourists can still see these magnificent animals – but from a distance – and the elephants can display all of their natural behaviours without being disturbed.

You can give more elephants the lives they deserve.

With your help we can...

Take action

Educate more tourists of the cruelty elephants experience in order to ‘entertain’ them, support more elephant tourist attractions to become high-welfare, observation-only sites and persuade more travel companies to end the sale of tickets to cruel wildlife attractions, and stop profiting from the suffering of animals.
