Will you help stop lions being hunted, abused and exploited?

Captive lions are pictured pacing along a fence where they are kept until hunted.

£30 could help amplify calls for South Africa to permanently ban lion breeding for profit.

In South Africa, lions are being cruelly farmed to be killed for traditional medicine, hunted for money or used to entertain tourists.

Torn from their mothers when they’re just days old, baby lions are locked in cramped, filthy enclosures with other desperate cubs. Adult female lions are thrust into a cycle of repeated pregnancies, producing litter after litter until their bodies can’t continue.

Some lions are brutally slaughtered so their bones can be cleaned, exported, crushed and used in traditional medicine.

Others are hunted by tourists to be kept as trophies. Shot many times by amateur hunters, lions often endure a horrifically slow and painful death.

With your help, we’re determined to stop lions suffering and give them good lives.

Hanuni’s story: a lifetime of misery

Lion cub Hanuni was stolen from her mother straight after birth.

She’s being hand-reared by tourists who’ve been told they’re helping her prepare to go back to the wild. But this isn’t true.

When Hanuni grows too large to be handled, she’ll be sold to another lion farm. Just like her mother, she’ll be cruelly caged and forced to give birth again and again. We can’t let this cruelty continue.
