Nearly 40 billion chickens around the world are farmed industrially for meat. Life for these chickens is a living nightmare.

Chickens are intelligent, sentient animals forced to live in barren and windowless sheds. They grow so quickly their lungs can fail. Due to this rapid growth they can barely stand and often end up with sores from sitting in their own waste.

By the end of their short lives, most are so densely packed that each chicken has less floor space than a single A4 piece of paper. This, combined with the shed’s constant artificial light, makes it nearly impossible for chickens to get any rest at all.

We are fighting to ensure corporations improve the lives of the chickens they use in their products. Already we have secured commitments from major players like KFC and Nando’s to improve chicken welfare in the UK, after our successful campaigns. But we must ensure other major companies follow suit, so that every chicken can have a life worth living.
