Helen Proctor

Hi I'm Helen, the Sentience Manager at World Animal Protection.
As a scientist I specialise in animal sentience; the capacity of animals to feel emotions and experiences such as pain and joy. I am deeply passionate about the emotional lives of animals - it is the reason they need protecting. Animals feel, so their experiences matter.
I have been an animal lover my whole life and believe that all animals should be protected. The more we know about the emotions of animals, the more we can ensure that they live good lives.
Through my blog you'll find out about all the exciting research my team is involved in, as well as the latest and most interesting facts about the animals we protect at World Animal Protection.
