Alligator park planned for Central London

News

Alligators are wild animals that belong in their natural environment, not in captivity. We’re calling on the developer to cancel plans for the alligator park.

Alligators are being used as an attraction at a new property development on the Old Kent Road proposed by company Avanton. We are calling on the business to stop profiting from wildlife and leave animals out of it.

Wildlife exploitation

Alligators are wild animals that should be in their natural environment and not living in captivity within a busy urban setting, acting as an attraction for visitors at a property development.

Katheryn Wise, our wildlife campaign manager, said:

"Not only is the busy and noisy environment of a property in Central London no place for a wild animal, but the transportation and handling of these alligators is also likely to cause them unnecessary stress, fear and anxiety.”

Exploiting wild animals for profit is not only incredibly sad but also the wrong message to be sending in 2020.

Call on Avanton to drop their plans

Email Avanton a polite message on info@avanton.co.uk asking them to reconsider their plans to exploit alligators.

Needless suffering

At World Animal Protection, we believe that no animal should ever suffer for the sake of human entertainment. You can learn more about our "Wildlife. Not Entertainers" campaign here.
